A brand created by a hairdresser
Kevin Murphy is an Australian hairdresser and stylist who inherited his love of hair from his mother – she was a hairdresser, too. In the early 1990s, working on fashion shoots, he noticed that the products of the time were made for sleek, flat styles. He wanted movement and volume, so he began creating his own blends – for instance, combining body lotion with setting lotion.
Those experiments gave birth to the brand in 2004, with its first seven products. Some of them – ANTI.GRAVITY, HAIR.RESORT and ROUGH.RIDER – are still brand classics, and you will find them in our store too.
A skincare philosophy for your hair
At the heart of Kevin.Murphy is the idea that hair deserves the same care as skin. The formulas draw on approaches proven in skincare and on plant-derived ingredients, while the textures stay light.
